Meet the Knack Pack: Partner Spotlights

Featured Image

The past twelve months at Knack have arguably been the best in its history. We’ve experienced dramatic growth across our team and platform, even in the midst of COVID-19, and none of it would have been possible without the extraordinary support our team has received, and continues to receive, from our partners. None of it.

We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce a few of them to you.

Florida A&M University

One of Knack’s earliest and longest-running partnerships, FAMU’s approach to academic support is the definition of an “open door policy." All Florida A&M courses and students are eligible for tutoring on Knack (even Music Theory!), increasing accessibility and opportunities for not only quality peer-to-peer learning, but valuable job opportunities. As of 2022, Knack Tutors at FAMU earn $15/hour.

Kennesaw State University, Coles College of Business

Kennesaw State University’s Coles College of Business launched a Knack program in September 2021 for eleven of their key business courses. From the onset, the faculty was all in. From attending Knack's Faculty Info Session and submitting sixteen Knack Tutor Faculty Recommendation Forms over the course of the semester to implementing a $50 bonus to the first 24 tutors who completed their first tutoring session, and everything in-between.

University of Akron

What started out as a free trial for the University of Akron’s College of Business has resulted in more than 900 users and 1,200 hours of completed tutoring in the almost two years that followed. In March 2020, at the height of quarantine, Knack began offering free trials of the platform to campuses in an effort to support the shift to remote learning. Akron took advantage of the initiative, virtualizing their roster of tutors, onboarding new tutors, and recently expanded tutoring opportunities to non-business students at the University of Akron.

University of South Florida, Muma College of Business

Another one of Knack’s longest standing relationships, The Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida launched a Knack Peer Tutoring Program in Fall 2019. More than two years and 4,000 hours of tutoring later, USF’s use of corporate sponsors to fund tutoring initiatives has increased impact for tutors and students alike.

“Knack has allowed us to launch a scalable peer tutoring program covering many of the courses our tutoring center was unable to service. Not only did Knack's Partner Success Team and technology enable a simple rollout, but their model of engaging employer partners as sponsors created a win-win and made it very affordable for our college."

As the saying goes, it takes a village. Our mission to ensure every student has access to quality academic support extends far beyond the walls of our virtual office – it’s an entire vision, shared by countless people on campuses across the globe. We’re lucky enough to work with many of them, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store.
