Partner Appreciation Week 2025: Scaling Peer Learning for Every Student

Large institutions serve diverse student populations with a wide range of academic needs, making flexible and scalable support essential. Knack’s partnerships with some of the largest colleges and universities in the country ensure that students in every course—across disciplines and class years—have access to high-quality peer learning. By embedding tutoring into their academic ecosystems, these institutions are creating sustainable, student-driven support structures that enhance learning, engagement, and retention at scale.


Below, we’re excited to showcase how large universities are leveraging Knack to provide accessible peer support for all students.

PAW 2025 (CCSU)

Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) partnered with Knack in Fall 2023 to provide access to peer tutoring for all students in all courses. 100% of surveyed CCSU students have reported having a better understanding of course material since starting tutoring sessions on Knack.

PAW 2025 (EIU)

Eastern Illinois University has been partnered with Knack since 2020 and currently supports all students in all courses. "My tutor helped me set attainable goals to work towards as well as showed me some study tips. This session was super helpful and I feel more prepared for the next time I need to study," said Megan K. about her Knack tutor.

PAW 2025 (FAMU)

Florida A&M University (FAMU) partnered with Knack to provide academic support to all students in all courses. The average tutor rating at FAMU is an impressive 4.98 out of 5 stars--a testament to the hard work and dedication of the program's peer tutors.

PAW 2025 (Fordham College)

Through Fordham University's partnership with Knack, students and tutors have completed over 20,000 sessions. “Receiving help has helped me earn better grades in my classes, especially Applied Calculus. I also love tutoring because I am helping my fellow classmates and I make friends," said Elaina P. about her experience as a Knack tutor at Fordham.

PAW 2025 (GMU)
George Mason University (GMU) partnered with Knack in Fall 2024, supporting all students in select courses. 59% of surveyed GMU students said they had never used any form of campus tutoring prior to Knack, demonstrating the partnership's ability to reach and engage more students.
PAW 2025 (GSU)
Georgia State University (GSU) partnered with Knack in Fall 2023 to provide access to free peer tutoring for all students in all courses. 80% of surveyed GSU students reported noticing a better understanding of course material since starting tutoring sessions on Knack.
PAW 2025 (GT)
At Georgia Tech, students attend an average of 6.85 sessions and tutors have an average of 28.88 sessions on the platform. “I tutor because I genuinely enjoy the subjects I teach. It’s cool to pass on that appreciation, even if it’s just helping someone get through a test. If I can make some of the underlying logic behind these topics click for someone, that’s really gratifying," said Milo F. about his experience as a peer tutor on Knack.
PAW 2025 (Herzing)
Herzing University launched their partnership with Knack in Fall 2023, supporting all students in all courses. 83% of surveyed Herzing students said they find the sessions helpful in achieving their academic goals.
PAW 2025 (IUI)
Indiana University Indianapolis partnered with Knack to provide academic support for all students in key courses. 40% of IU Indianapolis Knack users are first-year students, demonstrating the program's ability to support first-year students in their transition.
PAW 2025 (ISU)
Iowa State University partnered with Knack in Fall 2024 to provide peer tutoring services to all students in select courses. In just one semester, 997 students and tutors have completed a session on Knack.
PAW 2025 (LSUS)
Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) partnered with Knack in Fall 2024 to provide academic support to all students in every course. 100% of surveyed LSUS students reported feeling more confident in their understanding of the material.
PAW 2025 (Marshall)
Marshall University launched their partnership with Knack in Fall 2023. “My favorite thing about Knack is definitely the ability to connect with people easily. The more people know about Knack, the easier it is for them to sign up, post a request, and for me to browse the list of requests, identify what I can help with, and send a message—all without having to do any extra legwork on my own,” said Helen P. about her experience on Knack.
PAW 2025 (NU)
At Northeastern University, students have completed over 37,000 contact hours. “I get to meet a lot of different students, which has helped me open up. I used to be more introverted and would stumble over my words, but I’ve definitely improved," said Michael B. about his experience as a Knack tutor at Northeastern.
PAW 2025 (PVAMU)
Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) partnered with Knack to support all students in select courses. 55% of surveyed PVAMU students said they had never used any form of campus tutoring prior to Knack, demonstrating the partnership's ability to reach and engage more students.
PAW 2025 (UHouston)
67% of students at University of Houston would rate the overall quality of tutoring services on Knack a 10/10. “It's been a great experience, so far. It's been an amazing and easy way to reach out to students and to help students no matter where they are. I believe it's convenient as well because you can do it from the comfort of your bedroom," said Millicent O. about her experience as a Knack tutor.
PAW 2025 (UMaine)
At The University of Maine, 579 courses are covered on Knack. “Tutoring, even though it’s run through Knack, is still our tutoring. It’s still our students and we still have control over it. But it opened up our bandwidth dramatically which allowed them [the staff] to take on academic coaching as well," said Dr. T. Scott Marzilli, Associate Provost for Student Success & Innovation.
PAW 2025 (UNH)
At University of New Hampshire, students and tutors have completed over 6,000 sessions on Knack. “If one person's teaching method doesn’t work for me, I can turn to others who might explain it differently. This flexibility allows me to learn multiple approaches to solving a problem and take key insights from each tutor," said Sophie H. about her experience as a student on Knack.
PAW 2025 (Utah)
The University of Utah is one of Knack's most recent partnerships, supporting all students in select courses. Despite being a recent launch, the program already has 455 student users and 150 tutors.
PAW 2025 (VSU)
At Valdosta State University, 86% of surveyed students said they would recommend Knack to a friend or classmate. “I think Knack is great because it’s flexible—you can do sessions online or face-to-face. It’s also easy to communicate with students and connect with them. I prefer face-to-face sessions, especially for subjects like math, as it’s easier to explain concepts in person," said Andrea Z. about their experience as a tutor on Knack.
PAW 2025 (VT)
Virginia Tech launched their partnership with Knack in Spring 2024, supporting all students in select courses. At Virginia Tech, students attend an average of 4.16 sessions on Knack.
